Neal Tapps is a PADI Master Instructor with over
29 years of experience in the Scuba
industry. Neal has successfully logged literally thousands of dives, and
has certified over 1,700 safe, skilled divers. A native of Iowa, Neal
purchased the Scuba Center in 1987 and has since been serving the East Texas
diving community for 18 years. Also a skilled regulator technician and
known around the shop as the "Regulator Doctor," Neal can fix almost
any regulator known to man. In the recent years, Neal has become an
instructor for PSI, the agency recognized by Luxfer, PADI, and the U.S.
Government as the agency in charge of the inspection of high pressure

Mike Slicker is a PADI Course Director, which is the
highest professional level that an PADI Instructor can reach. Mike
is an integral part of the Scuba Center team of instructors, and when it
comes to diving, Mike knows his stuff.

JOE BLACKSTONE
PADI MASTER INSTRUCTOR
Joe Blackstone is a PADI Master Instructor,
and has been teaching people how to scuba dive for 22 years! What's
amazing is that he's actually been diving longer than that! He got
his start diving on South Padre Island during high school, and he enjoyed
it so much that he wanted to become an instructor. Joe has been an
instructor since 1983, and can teach a large number of PADI specialties. |

BETH Mc CAFFERTY
PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor
Beth is a PADI Open Water
Scuba Instructor who has been teaching for 4 years, and
diving for a total of 6 years. Her favorite place to
go diving is in Roatan, Honduras at the CoCo View Resort.
Beth loves to teach because she wants show people the beauty
of the underwater world, and help them have fun. She
says she anticipates the excitement and fun of each new
class. |

Chuck Perkins
PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor
Chuck is the newest member of the Scuba
Center staff of instructors. He loves to dive in
Hawaii and is a very skilled diver. If you get a
chance to meet him, welcome him aboard! |

JOHN
PASTY LEGS BAILEY AKA
JOHNNY SPIN OUT
PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer
John Bailey is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, and a PSI
Inspector who has been a Scuba Center staff member since 2001. When he
started in 2001 at age 16, he only cleaned the pools and the bathrooms, but he
worked his way up to being a PADI MSDT. John passed his IE on December 14
of 2003, when he was 18, and he is possibly the youngest PADI Instructor
certified in Texas. John is also a Scubapro & Aqualung
Authorized Service Technician, and he loves servicing
regulators and dive gear. Even though he's been diving
for over 8 years, John still feels that he has lots to
learn, and he looks forward to doing everything he can for
any customer.

TOMMY CHAMBERS
PADI ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR
Tommy Chambers is a PADI Assistant
Instructor who got his first taste of diving during a Discover Scuba
program on a cruise. A couple of years later he got certified, and
then worked his way up to Assistant Instructor. He's been diving for
6 years now, and Tommy says that his favorite dive destination is CoCo
View Resort in Roatan, Honduras. |
